Meet Dr. Ana Calles Zand
A Leader in Orthodontic Excellence
Dr. Ana Calles Zand, affectionately known as “Dr. Ana” by her patients, brings a warm and empathetic approach to orthodontic care. Originally from Mexico and raised on the East Coast, she was awarded a full tuition merit scholarship at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, where she studied Spanish Literature and Chemistry. After her undergraduate studies, she earned a prestigious Fulbright Scholarship, which took her to Mexico City to conduct nutritional public health research for a year. During her time in Mexico, she realized that she wanted a more hands on career where she could connect individually with patients. Dr. Ana then pursued her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where she was awarded the Leon Dogon Travel Fund to continue her research in Mexico City.

Dr. Ana completed her specialized orthodontic residency at the University of the Pacific, where she also earned her Masters of Science degree. Her research focused on understanding what motivates patients to seek orthodontic care – a reflection of her genuine interest in connecting with and helping her patients. She finds great joy in teaching and mentoring, currently serving as an instructor at the University of the Pacific where she shares her expertise in Invisalign techniques with dental students.
